It's probable that you are not really likely to notice much, if anything, concerning speed involving a 2.4 GHz chip and a 3.0 GHz chip. The gap between a 2.4 GHz along with a 4.0 GHz is very noticeable though. Do not waste money on a fast processor if you use your computer for checking email or browsing the net. You'll be throwing your money out the door since you do not require a super strong processor for all those instances of computer use.
